VAHDAM® India was founded in 2015 by Bala Sarda, who sought to revolutionize the traditional tea supply chain by eliminating middlemen and ensuring that high-quality Indian teas reached consumers directly. The brand is rooted in a legacy that began with the establishment of the first commercial tea plantation in Assam in 1837, followed by Nathmull Sarda's local tea store in Darjeeling in 1931. This family business evolved through generations, culminating in Bala's vision to create a global tea brand, with 'VAHDAM' being a reverse anagram of his father's name, 'Madhav.' Since its inception, VAHDAM® has expanded rapidly, launching in the United States and gaining international recognition, including endorsements from Oprah Winfrey and features on the 'Ellen DeGeneres Show.' The brand is also committed to social impact initiatives, including the TEACH MeTM program launched in 2018.
