Namakwali

Namakwali started in 2018 from the foothills of the Himalayan province of Uttarakhand. Women from different regions of Uttarakhand came together and used the traditional silbatta (stone grinder) to introduce their ancestral recipes of different flavoured salts to the world and to take their family legacy forward. They handpick every herb and spice from the high altitude areas of the Uttarakhand Himalayan range, and prepare the ancestral salt by gathering in the courtyards of their homes, grinding the salt and packing it for consumers. Over time, these women introduced other fully organically grown products, cultivated using conventional methods without chemicals or harmful fertilisers, to share more and more of their ancestral recipes with the people who love Uttarakhandi flavours.
